click here... e-newsletters our whole school newsletters keep you informed about past and future activities and celebrations! click here... welcome to higham ferrers nursery & infant school "together, we enjoy learning in a happy, caring and friendly environment" welcome to our school and new school website. i am very proud to be the acting headteacher of this vibrant and happy school. wellbeing and resilience are high on our school agenda for both pupils and staff. we are in the process of becoming an attachment aware school which means that we understand how children’s past development effects their day to day wellbeing. we use and teach protective behaviour strategies with all children in order for them to develop life skills that are needed to become resilient learners and individuals. we are a “good” school as recognised by oftsed. this was recently reinforced by a teaching and learning review day carried out by a local teaching school alliance to which we belong. they said: “higham ferrers nursery and infant school is a really enjoyable school to attend and work in, due to a culture of friendliness, care, concern and compassion. well-being is high on the agenda and the relationships between staff and with children is extremely positive. the school is bright and beautifully displayed in all areas with children’s work celebrated and a stimulating environment created. it was cared for and tidy with very little ‘clutter.’ the limited space was used creatively to enable the school to function smoothly.” we always strive to bring out the best in our children in an environment that is focused on our key values – care, share, enjoy, respect, and friendship. we pride ourselves in providing a creative and highly stimulating curriculum which we ensure is accessible to all children. this is delivered in a caring, safe and secure setting. you are warmly welcome to come and visit us. we have a very supportive parental community and are proud of our school and the achievements of our pupils however big or small. please use the navigation buttons to move around our school site. if there is anything you think we ought to add do let us know. we look forward to your feedback. mrs linda ward acting headteacher recent exciting news!
